Halloween crunch time, folks.

For those of us heading to the Halloween Parade on Friday, it's crunch time! When and where is a good place to meet?

The line-up for the parade is 6th Avenue south of Spring Street and north of Canal between 6:30 and 8:30 p.m. We can only enter the line-up on 6th Ave. from the East and South between Canal and Spring.

I'm thinking we should meet up somewhere nearby, around 4 or 5 PM. The only issue is to find a good spot that works for everyone while still giving us time to walk through the village and check out the crowds on the way to line up.

Is anyone coming from work or anything like that, and therefore have non-negotiable space/time limits to consider? The beauty of having no plan is we're still pretty damn adaptable at this point, don't be shy.

Also, I shall have my cellphone with me. If you want to be able to get in touch that way, or at least receive the "get your ass to ___!" text messages I shall undoubtedly be sending around like mad, please shoot me an email or private LJ message and let me know.

There are also a few interesting events going on after the parade.

The Promised Land, a 24-hour-long travelling art party type thing. My girlfriend and I plan to check this out because we're dorks like that.

If you're not into that, Sidepocket has the following suggestions:

Webster Hall Party - right near the parade ending, but pricey and likely crowded as hell.

NYC Resistor Halloween Party - In downtown Brooklyn, but only $10 cover and it's run by our fellow hackers.

I get out of work at 9PM. I'm down for the Resistor Party.

Working... but we'll see.

I get out of work around 5 pm, so I probably won't be able to make it there until 6. The best I can do is drop you a call and see if you can meet with me from that point.

Of course, there's no guarantee my work will need me that day, so if not, count me in.

I think I am going to commute to the location the same way I told you, but since I will still have no idea where the meet-up location is, I am going to call you in a moment to reinstate my number. On the day, I will attempt to contact you so you can guide me Matrix Operator style to the meeting place.

I think that will work out for me just fine.

OKAY, people. It was difficult narrowing down all ONE of the possible meeting locations suggested by you guys, but I've settled on the area around Canal St station, at around 5:30 PM. Since the station will of course be insanely crowded with all manner of creatures, we can use the nearby intersection of Canal St and 6th Ave. Gravitate toward there, and get in touch if you don't see any of us.

Those of you who still need my fone number, please email or comment here within a few hours (if anonymously, give me some way of getting back to you!) and you can has.
